DECLARATION OF VALUE

Foreigners and Italians residing abroad can be admitted into Italian universities by filing an application with the Consulate which must be accompanied by the prescribed documentation, to be approved by the competent Italian authorities on the basis of their evaluation of the educational credentials received abroad. The Consular Office must also ascertain and certify that the credentials for lower and upper secondary school are sufficient for admission into university courses according to the regulations of the country in which they were completed ("Declaration of Value").
In Sri Lanka, in order to obtain a Declaration of Value, the applicant must get the original certificate from the Ministry of Education, then legalize it from the local Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Once it is legalized, is it possible to submit the documents to VFS (our local agency) or directly to the Consular Office of the Embassy, that issues the Declaration.
